Law School Outreach Programs on the Rise

This fall, the FJA Research and Education Foundation’s“ Justice Network” brought its brand of student outreach to Florida State University College of Law, UF Levin College of Law, and Barry University School of Law. The successful mixers brought out over 100 law students who joined us for networking with FJA attorney members, and a short message to raise the students’ awareness of the Foundation’s role in protecting Florida’s civil justice system through education and research.

“My experience at the Law School Outreach event was incredibly valuable,” said Julie Ducey an FSU law student. “Providing law students with opportunities like this is so important in making connections and discovering aspects of law we may not have previously considered or even been aware of. These events encourage us to explore the ways we can pursue what we are passionate about in a career after law school while having a voice in our community.”

A special thanks goes to our attorney members who joined Paul Jess and John Brazzell at the law school events to help share information about our mission. FJA President Leslie Mitchell Kroeger, Outreach Chair Ben Whitman, Richard Chait, Matt Posgay, Bruce Kaster, Don Hinkle, Matt Carrillo, Dan Hendricks, Jack and Cherie Fine, and Jonathan Gilbert.

“Attending The Justice Network was an amazing opportunity to network with practicing attorneys,” said Logan Eagen, an L2 at the University of Florida, “It is comforting to know that once I graduate there is a support system of attorneys who I can reach out to. The FJA student membership offers so many helpful tools I can use for the rest of my law school and professional career.”

With 83 new law student members joining the ranks of the FJA, look for additional outreach events in the spring!
